Board
Policies Transitioning to New Website
The
Cumberland County Board of Education is in the process
of updating all board policies. This process includes
transitioning to a new policies Website. As policies
are reviewed and adopted by the Board, old policies will
be removed from the
CCS' Policy
Website and new policies will
be housed on the North Carolina School Board
Association’s (NCSBA)
Legal/Policy
Services
Website.
Please view the
Policy Updates Correlation Table to determine which
board policies have transitioned to the NCSBA
Legal/Policy Services Website.
One of the most important
duties of a school board is to adopt policies that
provide direction and guidance for the school system. To
be effective, school board policies must be
educationally and legally sound. As our federal and
state legislative and judicial bodies continue to adopt
and revise statutes and issue legal decisions affecting
school districts, the school board must keep its
policies updated accordingly.
By utilizing the NCSBA
Policy Web Hosting Service we are increasing services
available to our stakeholders. Users will have access
to links to legal references, extensive searching
capabilities, and quick, easy access to the most
up-to-date version of the policies.
We
appreciate your patience while we work through this
process. |
